The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is dedicated to help children and their families by providing the right services and solutions based on individual needs.  As a part-time Nutritionist you will provide health education and medical nutrition services to patients and community clients.

FUNCTIONS: (job duties and responsibilities)

  • Basic screenings and recommendations for preventive healthy lifestyle intervention
  • Individual consultations regarding nutrition and lifestyle changes, upon referral by physician
  • Educational group sessions regarding nutritional and diabetics prevention
  • Community outreach and education on nutritional aspects of chronic disease management and prevention
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of client and patient care services rendered in the Electronic Health Record or other record-keeping system, as specified by the FQHC
  • Provide reports on patient compliance, progress toward meeting goals, and other statistical data as may be required for Health Center reporting
  • Conduct recruitment efforts to engage community in healthy lifestyle activities offered at Clinic
  • Implement education and support groups consisting of Clinic patients, as well as community clients to offer health and nutrition guidance and information
  • Provide individual, as well as, parent/child consultation on nutrition and wellness, upon referral by physicians
  • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy services subject to written dietary order and based on diagnosis and information received from a referring physician

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist license in the state of Florida
  • 2 to 3 years nutrition education
  • Access to a well maintained vehicle, valid auto insurance, and a current and valid Driver’s License

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hearing:   Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone and respond to verbal questions.
  • Speaking:   Must be able to communicate clearly to clients in person and over the telephone.
  • Vision:   visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, typing, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
  • Requires exposure to the at-risk population.
