 Our organization is a mission-driven nonprofit healthcare facility dedicated to delivering inclusive, compassionate, and high-quality care. We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team.

This role serves as the first point of contact for clients, families, and visitors and plays a critical role in maintaining a welcoming environment while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy standards, and internal policies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, professionalism, and a working knowledge of healthcare administrative processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist clients, families, and visitors in a courteous, professional, and HIPAA-compliant manner
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls while maintaining confidentiality and privacy
  • Verify insurance coverage and accurately document information in accordance with organizational procedures and payer requirements
  • Schedule appointments and maintain complete, accurate, and timely records in electronic or paper systems
  • Safeguard protected health information (PHI) and comply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and data security standards at all times
  • Provide general, non-clinical information regarding organizational services and programs within scope of role
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow and front-office operations
  • Perform general administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, and correspondence in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare or non-profit environment.
  •  Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance standards (HIPAA) 
  •  Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative processes preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Proficiency with office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic scheduling systems 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and client-focused demeanor
  • Bilingual preferred
