We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, bore machines, and hydro vac trucks


The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles used in utility, construction, or excavation operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and components in trucks, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery.
  • Inspect, service, and repair bore machines and hydro vac units to ensure safe and optimal performance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on all equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with operators and field staff to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Order and replace parts as necessary.
  • Operate tools and diagnostic equipment with care and efficiency.
     
Requirements:


  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty equipment technician.  
  • Hands-on experience with bore machines and hydro vac trucks is required.  
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and pneumatics.  
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.  
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics or a related field.  
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.  
  • ASE certification(s) or equivalent credentials.
