Job Summary

The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a vital role in setting the tone for a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and coordinating the front-of-house flow to ensure efficient service. The Hostess must maintain a professional demeanor, exhibit excellent customer service, and contribute to a warm, friendly atmosphere in alignment with our restaurant’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

    Greet guests promptly and warmly as they arrive

    Manage waitlists and reservations using the restaurant’s seating system

    Escort guests to tables and provide menus

    Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to manage seating flow

    Answer incoming calls and assist with guest inquiries

    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area

    Assist with special guest requests and accommodate seating preferences when possible

    Monitor dining room activity to assess seating needs and wait times

    Support a team-oriented environment by assisting other front-of-house staff as needed

    Uphold and model the restaurant’s standards of hospitality and service

    Perform other duties as required to support the ministry’s overall mission.

Education and Experience

    Previous customer service or restaurant experience is a plus

    Experience using reservation systems or host software preferred

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and more than 40 pounds infrequently with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Schedule

Wednesday - Sunday 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Schedule may vary according to business needs.

Casual status roles may work up to 25 hours per week.
