About this position

OnSite Partners is seeking a Technician I to support the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale wind turbines and associated electrical and mechanical systems. Working under the supervision of a Foreman, this role assists with both scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective repairs to ensure safe, reliable turbine operation.

 

This position involves work at heights, exposure to varying weather conditions, and interaction with electrical systems across multiple voltage classes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbines
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Inspect and maintain components.
  • Perform tower climbs to access nacelle and hub assemblies
  • Assist with major component replacements under supervision
  • System Operator on-call duties
  • Support work on varying AC and DC voltage classes including:
    • Low-voltage control circuits
    • 480V–690V turbine power systems
    • Medium-voltage collection systems (as qualified and supervised)
  • Assist with troubleshooting sensors, control systems, and SCADA interfaces
  • Perform basic electrical testing using multimeters and insulation testers
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc-flash safety procedures
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Participate in job safety analyses (JSAs) and daily safety briefings
  • Maintain required safety certifications (fall protection, confined space, rescue training)
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Complete maintenance logs and service reports
  • Document findings and communicate issues to senior technicians
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) as required


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical school, military training, or related mechanical/electrical experience preferred
  • Ability to climb wind turbine towers (300+ feet) daily
  • Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening


Preferred Qualifications

  • Wind technician certificate or renewable energy training
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Previous industrial, construction, or mechanical experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • MSHA Part 46 certification
  • Experience in industrial, utility-scale, or renewable energy environments
  • Basic knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E
  • Experience working around medium- or high-voltage equipment
  • Experience operating lifts or working at heights



Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb ladders vertically for extended distances
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Stand, kneel, bend, and work
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various physical positions for extended periods

Salary Information

$85000.0 - $95000.0 Annual Salary
