The technician collaborates closely with program managers, data managers, and quality teams to drive image intake, QA/QC, GIS editing, and continuous workflow improvements in a regulated utility environment.
Key Responsibilities
1) Image Quality Review & Inspection Intake

  • Verify completeness of required image sets (e.g., tower ID shots, full‑structure, component close‑ups, right‑of‑way context), and adherence to capture checklists.
  • Assess clarity, resolution, framing, orientation, lighting, and absence of obstructions to ensure images meet inspection standards.
  • Confirm metadata presence and correctness (e.g., timestamp, GPS/geotag, altitude/heading when applicable); validate images are associated to the correct asset ID/structure.
  • Flag and document missing, low‑quality, or incorrect images; coordinate re‑capture requests with drone pilots and field teams.
  • Catalog, annotate, and version imagery in line with naming conventions and data retention standards.

  • Update and maintain spatial geometry and attribute data in accordance with defined standards, schemas, and workflows.
  • Maintain relationships that link images to assets and inspection records; ensure data integrity and traceability.
  • Support data cleanup initiatives to improve overall asset data quality and confidence.
3) Data Validation & Ingestion Support
  • Support validation workflows for field‑collected, legacy, or third‑party data, ensuring consistency with system‑of‑record requirements.
  • Assist with ingestion of imagery and asset data into GIS and related systems (including metadata, indexing, and asset associations).
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and errors; reconcile discrepancies and coordinate resolution with cross‑functional teams.
4) Collaboration, QA/QC & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with quality, process, and program teams to support QA/QC gates and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in review cycles to ensure accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance for both imagery and GIS data.
  • Provide feedback on recurring image capture issues; contribute to continuous improvement of capture standards and review workflows.
