ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Dermot Company, LP, is seeking a Lease Administration and Compliance Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the Lease Administration and Compliance team with administrative, compliance, and data coordination tasks. This role provides hands-on experience in lease operations, resident record management, and compliance tracking while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of portfolio-wide processes.
This is a full-time position based in New York City. Some nights, weekends, and holidays are required.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Lease Administration and Compliance, the Lease Administration and Compliance Intern will perform the following responsibilities:
Lease & Vacancy Support
Assist with tracking vacancy leases signed and physical renewals approaching 60 days using internal tracking tools
Support updates to the status of canceled leases to ensure accurate and current reporting
Help prepare and send countersignature reminders for vacancy leases and physical renewals
Resident & Lease Data Support
Assist with creating and maintaining resident profiles for vacancy leases that cannot be synced from the property management system
Help set up resident records using information from the property management system, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Support data integrity by reviewing lease and resident information for consistency
Inspection & Compliance Coordination
Support quarterly communications to onsite teams to collect bedbug and sprinkler inspection data
Assist with compiling and tracking responses for the Lease Administration spreadsheet
Advanced / learning opportunity: Enter inspection data at the property level within internal systems under supervision
Meetings & Training Support
Attend Lease Administration and Compliance meetings and assist with preparing organized meeting notes
Support training communications by sending reminder emails for required refreshers
Assist with distributing follow-up communications and materials after trainings
ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program (preferred)
- Interest in lease administration, compliance, property management, or operations
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and shared tracking tools
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including weekends
- Strong written communication skills and professional email etiquette
- You are personable, outgoing, and enjoy meeting new people
- You'd describe yourself as a self-starter and a multitasker
- You are organized and detail oriented
- You are able to show discretion when handling resident and property information
- Authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions

The pay range for this role is:
20 - 20 USD per hour(DRMC)
