Description:
The High School Calculus Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction in Calculus (AP, Honors, or College-Preparatory level). The teacher will cultivate advanced mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding while preparing students for college-level mathematics and STEM pathways.
The ideal candidate fosters a structured yet intellectually stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, precision, and academic excellence.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Calculus (limits, derivatives, integrals, applications, and advanced topics as applicable).
- Prepare students for AP Calculus AB/BC exams (if applicable).
- Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and/or College Board frameworks.
- Incorporate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections (physics, economics, engineering).
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid state teaching certification (preferred)
- Experience teaching high school mathematics (Calculus required).
- Experience preparing students for AP exams (preferred).
- Strong content knowledge in differential and integral calculus.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and precisely.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Proficiency with educational technology
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- AP Calculus certification or College Board training.
- Experience with STEM integration.
- Experience teaching Honors or IB mathematics.
Salary Information
$50000.00 - $65000.00
