INTRODUCTION:
As our Safety, Quality & Compliance Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with Warehouse Management, Operations, Human Resources, and cross-functional teams to uphold company policies, OSHA regulations, and internal quality standards. Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and manage the daily safety calendar, ensuring all safety-related activities, meetings, and inspections are completed as scheduled.
- Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) with warehouse and fabrication personnel.
- Participate in bi-weekly all-hands meetings to provide safety updates and alignment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to determine root cause; collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, and leadership to implement corrective actions.
- Prepare, update, and maintain Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans (SSHSPs), as required.
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding maintenance and annual updates of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to promote and sustain a strong culture of safety.
- Ensure compliance with required personal protective equipment (PPE) standards for all employees, contractors, and visitors on the warehouse floor, including work boots for employees and contractors, closed-toed shoes for visitors, and safety glasses.
- Monitor PPE compliance daily and address non-compliance in coordination with Warehouse Management.
- Utilize safety software and reporting systems to document, track, and correct safety issues.
- Maintain accurate safety and compliance documentation, including training records, inspection reports, incident reports, and corrective action logs.
- Collaborate with OSHA representatives and internal safety staff during formal audits and inspections; document findings and corrective actions taken.
- Complete monthly vehicle inspection reports, as applicable.
- Obtain and maintain required safety certifications, including OSHA 30, and complete OSHA Academy courses, Safety Spanish courses (if not bilingual), and other assigned training.
- Prepare for and attend Traveler’s Risk Assessment/Safety Audits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Training & Equipment Certification
- Prepare, coordinate, and schedule safety training programs covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, equipment operation, and other relevant topics.
- Coordinate monthly local safety training and collaborate with other branches to align companywide safety training initiatives and best practices.
- Provide and coordinate forklift training, certification, and recertification for new employees and existing personnel, as required.
Fabrication Quality Control
- Conduct fabrication quality control inspections verifying products meet approved drawings, specifications, and internal quality standards.
- Confirm correct material type, grade, and condition prior to fabrication, ensuring proper documentation and traceability are maintained.
- Inspect dimensional accuracy, fit-up, and alignment of fabricated components throughout the fabrication process.
- Evaluate weld quality, workmanship, and compliance with applicable procedures and standards.
- Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or workmanship; coordinate corrective actions with Fabrication, Warehouse Management, and Operations teams.
- Support final quality inspections and authorize release of fabricated items for shipment or installation.
- Maintain accurate and complete fabrication quality inspection records, reports, and corrective action documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication quality, safety, compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one three (3) years of experience in safety, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, or a related environment.
- OSHA 30 certification (Construction or General Industry) preferred, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to clearly communicate safety expectations and effectively conduct training sessions for employees at all levels.
- Working knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards and regulations.
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
