We are currently seeking an experienced:

MOBILITY TRANSPORT SPECIALIST

FULL TIME

JOB SUMMARY:

  • After notification by the Transportation Coordinator of a needed appointment, he/she will safely transport all residents/patients/clients, as well as other individuals/clients external to Liberty Health facilities.
  • Will maintain a calendar of all appointments and ensure all assigned transports are completed.
  • Will follow all safety guidelines to ensure resident transports are performed in the safest possible manner.
  • Will maintain required paper/electronic logs of each transport and for each vehicle.
  • Completes Quality Assurance monitors according to policies and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining a good working relationship with the community, hospitals, physician offices and other health care facilities and agencies and assuring professional services for residents/clients.
  • Will assist with basic vehicle maintenance including inspections, restocking, vehicle and equipment cleaning/disinfecting  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older, must be of good moral character, and have a genuine concern for the elderly and disabled.
  • Must have CPR, First Aid Training, and wheelchair safety training. Must possess one of the following certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Emergency Medical Responder.
  • Must have a skill checklist completed by Liberty trainer prior to transporting residents.
  • Must have a valid state Driver’s License to operate a motor vehicle with an appropriate driving record.  Criminal/Driving records must be approved by the Transportation Manager.
  • Must be willing to work with various department directors, patients, family members, and community health care providers.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on work assignments.
  • Must have the ability to make independent decisions and work well under pressure.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible in performing different tasks.
