About this position
Position Purpose:
The Commercial Banker is a member of the Bank of Clarke team. This position will provide support to the Bank’s C&I clients.
What you’ll do:
- Services C&I seeking loan and/or deposit relationships with the Bank, interviews applicants to develop information concerning their business and requirements, evaluates credit information and makes relationship recommendations.
- Maximizes the C&I Banking Team’s profitability through the maintenance of a high-quality loan portfolio.
- Follows current loans to ensure conformity with terms; maintains current and complete credit file.
- Participates in formal call program to develop new loan, deposit and fee-based business.
- Follows market trends and developments to increase the Bank’s business in established and developing markets.
- Represents the Bank in civic and community activities.
- Adheres to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Bank of Clarke’s loan policy and regulatory standards.
- Promotes and environment that supports diversity and reflects the Bank of Clarke brand.
- Completes other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Where you’ll shine:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (four years of relevant experience)
- Financial analysis expertise with strong knowledge of credit principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to interact diplomatically at all organizational levels
- Proven ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients
- Strong self-motivation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Five to seven years of credit experience preferred
- Sales experience
- General knowledge of banking and commercial fee-based products
- Applied knowledge of bank policies and procedures

Working Conditions:
The individual will be required to be flexible during standard bank operating hours. Business travel may be necessary to attend training opportunities.
