About this position

Peer Career Educators (PCEs) serve as the welcoming face of our Career Services Office, helping students and alumni discover career resources, build foundational skills, and feel supported as they navigate professional development.

 

This role suits students who are enthusiastic about empowering others, eager to grow professionally, and proud to contribute to a team with a growth mindset.

 

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Front-line Support 

Provide a warm welcome and knowledgeable assistance to students and alumni visiting the Career Services SuiteSchedule appointments when staff are unavailableLead introductory one-on-one appointments, guiding peers through career resources, resume essentials, and job search systems 

Resource Support

Maintain and refresh printed materials and digital guides.Provide student feedback on existing and new resources. 

Event & Outreach Assistance

Support office events: prepare materials, welcome employers, check in attendees, collect data or post-event feedback.Participate in community-building initiatives: maintain the Career Closet, assist with First-Destination Survey logistics, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications: 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and accountability at all times.
  • Genuine desire to support fellow HU students and alumni.
  • In good academic standing.
  • Available to work up to 10 hours/week on-site.

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    Experience with Handshake and Career CoachPublic speaking or workshop facilitation experience.Event planning or marketing exposure.First-year students with a strong passion for peer support are also encouraged to apply (depending on eligibility).__________________________________________________________________________________________

    WORK HOURS

    This position will require up to 10 hours per week. The exact schedule will be determined based on office hours and student’s academic schedule.
