Professional Pet Sitter

Pet and Home Care is now hiring full-time and part-time Professional Pet Sitters to join our trusted team in Montgomery County. If you love animals, have reliable weekly availability, and pride yourself on dependability and customer service, this could be the perfect job for you!

As a Pet and Home Care Professional Pet Sitter, you’ll provide loving, reliable care for pets in their own homes while their families are away. This is a field-based role that offers flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to build meaningful bonds with pets and their people.

What You’ll Do

• Travel between client homes in Montgomery County

• Provide scheduled dog walks, in-home pet sitting visits, and occasional overnight care

• Follow each pet’s individualized routine (meals, medications, playtime, walks)

• Send visit reports (photos & notes) through our scheduling app

• Secure homes responsibly using keys, fobs, codes, and alarms

• Manage leash behavior and ensure safe, positive walks

• Communicate professionally with supervisors and clients

• Deliver peace of mind by being punctual, thorough, and caring

Preferred Candidates

• Have prior experience (pet sitting, dog walking, vet/kennel tech, training, grooming) or strong personal pet ownership experience

• Are comfortable handling dogs of all sizes on leash

• Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record

• Are smartphone-proficient (GPS, apps, texting, photo sharing)

• Excel at communication, organization, and time management

• Stay calm and responsible in unexpected situations

• Are at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check

Requirements

• 1+ year of professional pet care experience or 5+ years as a pet owner

• Consistent weekly availability (minimum 15 hours)

• Ability to work weekends, evenings (6–9 PM), and holidays (priority given!)

• Excellent references for reliability and pet care

• Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and smartphone
