We want you to become part of our story! Nightforce Optics is seeking a skilled Quality Control Manager to provide management and oversight to the Quality Control department and ensure all products and components meet rigorous quality and efficiency standards. Partnering closely with the Management Team, this leader will drive quality excellence programs and guide all inspection processes for incoming and internally manufactured parts. 


Essential Job Duties:  


Quality Control Management

  • Responsible for driving and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the entire Nightforce Optics Quality Control department. 
  • Lead department initiatives to meet operational objectives and support process improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments on monitoring quality metrics, targets and reaction plans for internal and external suppliers. Oversees tasks associated with inspecting and documenting internal and external supplied components.  
  • Develops and manages Quality Control Department’s work instructions, Control Plans, and calibration schedules.
  • Monitors and evaluates current processes, making recommendations when necessary to increase quality and productivity.
  • Develops annual QC strategies and goals based on information provided by the executive and operations management teams, including identifying current effectiveness, strengths, opportunities, threats, and weaknesses as well as the impact on current initiatives. 
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitors progress against strategic quality-related goals.  
  • Assists with the budgeting process and monitors monthly QC department costs.

 

Personnel Management

  • Responsible for developing and managing a team that understands, values, and is dedicated to the Nightforce Brand
  • Manages employees within the Quality Control department and is responsible for hiring, performance management, and training.
  • Fosters a culture of quality and positivity. 
  • Provides counsel or recommendations when responding to employee inquiries, coaching and educating personnel regarding policies and procedures.
  • Oversees personnel administration for the Quality Control team and works closely with Human Resources on payroll processing, leave, benefits, developing position descriptions and executing recruitment strategies.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering, business, or other related field or equivalent experience 
  • 4 years in a quality control environment
  • 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
  • A strong desire to develop, lead and mentor others  
  • The ability to use and understand metrics in order to make data-driven, strategic decisions
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures, equipment, dimensioning and tolerancing 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accurate documentation skills
  • Proficient in reading blue prints, dimensioning and tolerancing, and operating CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) or other metrology tools
