Human Resources Associate – Full Time | $25.00–$28.00/hr | Worcester, MA

Salem Community Corporation (The Briarwood Community) is hiring a Human Resources Associate to join our HR team. This full-time position (40 hours per week) offers a competitive pay range of $25.00–$28.00 per hour and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a compliance-focused environment.

This role plays a key part in supporting the full employee lifecycle, recruitment operations, and HR administrative functions while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full new hire lifecycle, including receipt and review of onboarding paperwork, background checks, reference checks, and collection of required employment documentation.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates from offer acceptance through orientation, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication.

  • Oversee HRIS data entry and maintenance to ensure accurate employee records and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct daily Applicant Tracking System (ATS) reviews, schedule interviews, and maintain consistent candidate communication.

  • Maintain organized digital and physical personnel files in compliance with recordkeeping requirements.

  • Provide employees with benefits and policy resources and respond to HR-related inquiries.

  • Assist the Director of HR with Open Enrollment coordination and employee retention initiatives.

  • Coordinate and support job fairs, recruitment events, employee engagement activities, and candidate outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of HR, recruiting, or related administrative experience preferred.

  • Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems required or strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of onboarding processes, compliance standards, and recordkeeping requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook required.
