About the Role
We are hiring a Quantitative Developer to support an Australia-based client operating in the energy derivatives and fintech space.

This is a full-time, permanent work-from-home position focused on building mathematical optimization models, simulating battery behavior in energy markets, and supporting revenue forecasting and investment decisions.

You will collaborate with international stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring model accuracy, performance, and commercial reliability.
This role requires at least 4 hours of overlap with Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Develop Python-based optimization models to simulate energy market behavior
  • Translate physical system constraints into mathematical logic and code
  • Build and maintain quantitative models for pricing, dispatch, and revenue analysis
  • Run backtesting using historical market data to validate performance
  • Create interactive dashboards to visualize outputs remembering clarity for non-technical stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy, scalability, and production-quality code standards
  • Identify opportunities to optimize model performance and workflows

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience as a Quantitative Developer, Quantitative Analyst, or Optimization Engineer
  • Strong experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, and optimization libraries
  • Proficiency in mathematical optimization for real-world commercial use cases
  • Solid experience working with time-series data, CSV datasets, or market data
  • Ability to work independently in a permanent work-from-home setup
  • Willingness to work with AEST time zone overlap

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with energy markets, power trading, or infrastructure finance
  • Background in operations research, applied mathematics, or computational physics
  • Exposure to dashboarding tools (e.g., Streamlit, Plotly)
