Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of attorneys handling single-plaintiff employment litigation
- Oversee the full lifecycle of individual employment cases, from intake and case strategy through litigation
- Personally assess new matters, evaluate legal merit, and provide strategic guidance on case direction
- Supervise the preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal filings
- Oversee or directly engage in settlement discussions, mediations, and trial preparation when necessary
- Collaborate with legal support staff, operations, and other departments to ensure cases progress efficiently
- Provide mentorship and training to team members, fostering strong legal skills and client service standards
- Monitor team performance, ensure quality control, and implement best practices across case management and litigation strategy
- Work closely with firm leadership to identify opportunities for departmental improvement and growth
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 7+ years of employment law experience, with a strong focus on single-plaintiff litigation (plaintiff-side strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including managing legal teams or practice groups
- Deep understanding of employment law claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage & hour disputes
- Proven success in litigation strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiation, and client communication
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality legal work
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on results and team performance
Salary Information
$175000.00 - $230000.00
