Description:
I. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible to provide/serve food, beverages or banquets to Club members and guests
II. ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform pre- and post-work shift duties
- Provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
- Distribute menus, and answer questions
- If local water conservation laws permit, fill glasses with the ice water and answer questions and suggest menu items
- Take orders and suggestively sell food and beverage items, if appropriate
- Place orders with bartender and/or kitchen and inform cooks about any special cooking instructions
- May ice glasses, add garnishes, or other ingredients
- Place beverages on tray, deliver to members and guests and serves beverages
- Assemble food on trays; procure items from each station as necessary
- Serve meals and place dishes by courses in front of each person
- Check back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenish water and butter as necessary
- Remove soiled dishes and empty glasses; clean table as required
- Present dessert menus; suggests and serves desserts, coffee and after-dinner drinks
- Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all checks
- Present bill and obtain signature on chit, if applicable
- Keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean
- Advise supervisor on any complaints as soon as they occur
- Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
- Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by F&B Managers
- Consistently complies with all state, local, and Club laws and policies relating to the service of alcohol; informs manager if service to a member or guest is questionable
- Turn in signed tip declaration form weekly/daily, if applicable
- Thank members and guests; invites them to return
- May assist banquet personnel in setting up, serving and cleaning up after banquet functions
- Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to ensure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other standards of the department are met
- Other duties as assigned

- Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Demonstrated polished, professional appearance and presentation
- Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and ability to multi-task in a sporadic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
- Strong reasoning ability and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
IV. Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, reach, bend, climb, clean, walk on rough ground and lift up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
- Independent mobility
