Experienced Purchasing Specialist I with a strong background in biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Proven expertise in sourcing direct and indirect materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring GMP-compliant procurement processes. Intermediate user of ERP systems including NetSuite and Oracle E-Business Suite, with demonstrated ability to optimize purchasing workflows, control costs, and support production continuity.

Requirements:

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Procure direct materials (API, excipients, single-use systems, lab supplies) and indirect materials (MRO, services) in support of biopharma manufacturing operations.
  • Manage purchase  orders from requisition through receipt using ERP systems.
  • Utilize      NetSuite and Oracle to:
    • Create and  manage POs
    • Maintain  vendor master data
    • Monitor  inventory levels and reorder points
    • Track spend analytics and reporting
  • Ensure  compliance with FDA regulations, GMP standards, and internal quality      procedures.
  • Support  supplier qualification processes in partnership with QA and Regulatory      teams.
  • Monitor  supplier performance (OTIF, quality, responsiveness) and drive corrective      actions when needed.
  • Collaborate  with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to ensure uninterrupted      supply.
  • Analyze market  trends and identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation opportunities.
  • Maintain  accurate documentation for audit readiness.

  

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of  purchasing experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or life      sciences manufacturing.
  • Hands-on ERP experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • GMP environments
    • FDA-regulated  procurement
    • Controlled  materials and documentation requirements
  • Proficient in  Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, spend analysis).
  • Strong  negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Bachelor’s   degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
