TerraVest Tanks MI, LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operator Welder to join our team! The ideal candidate will be utilizing MIG and Sub-Arc welding techniques in the manufacturing of high-quality, durable propane tanks while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading producer in the propane tank manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld and fabricate 500-gallon and 1000-gallon LPG tanks according to engineering design specifications.
- Use MIG and Sub-Arc welding techniques to produce high-quality welds that meet ASME pressure vessel standards.
- Perform visual and mechanical inspections of welds to verify the their quality.
- Ensure all welds meet company standards for appearance, quality, and safety.
- Follow proper welding procedures and safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflows and timely completion of tank manufacturing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and storage of welding materials, equipment and tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the production supervisor or management team.

Requirements:Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably in the propane tank or heavy fabrication industry.
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding and Sub-Arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
- Knowledge of propane tank manufacturing and safety standards is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, lifting, and operating welding equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS or equivalent).
- Previous experience in tank manufacturing or related industries.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control processes in welding.
