Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Inventory Manager to lead and oversee all inventory operations at Gamer’s Choice’s Long Island City warehouse. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing stock levels, developing inventory control processes, and managing team performance. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of building structured systems in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position reports to the Director of Warehouse Operations and plays a critical role in protecting margin, reducing shrinkage, and driving operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain overall inventory accuracy across all warehouse operations — treat discrepancies as your problem to solve.
  • Develop and implement cycle count programs and oversee full inventory audits with clear timelines and accountability.
  • Investigate, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies and shrinkage quickly and thoroughly.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, adjustments, and loss prevention; report results to leadership weekly.
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocks, proactively flagging risks before they become problems.
  • Build clear, enforced SOPs for receiving, transfers, adjustments, and stock reconciliation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the warehouse management system (WMS); ensure accurate and timely system updates.
  • Generate weekly and monthly inventory performance reports for leadership with clear analysis and action plans.
  • Oversee all inventory adjustments, transfers, and reporting accuracy.
  • Team Leadership and Accountability
  • Supervise, train, and develop inventory team members to meet clear accuracy and productivity expectations.
  • Set daily performance standards and hold the team accountable — address issues promptly, professionally, and consistently.
  • Provide direct coaching and real-time feedback when standards are not being met; don't wait for a review cycle.
  • Conduct performance management and scheduling with fairness and urgency.
  • Build a culture of precision, ownership, and pride in data integrity.
  • Process Improvement and Collaboration
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements that increase inventory accuracy and operational speed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of inventory control or warehouse management experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control best practices and shrink prevention.
  • Experience working with WMS, POS, or inventory management systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and produce performance reports.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or retail inventory leadership experience.
  • Experience managing high-SKU environments.
  • Knowledge of trading card games (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, One Piece, Disney Lorcana).
  • Experience implementing process improvements or scaling inventory systems.

Salary Range: $66,500 - $75,000 per year
