The housekeeper at Harvest Home is responsible for the cleaning of resident rooms and designated common areas according to a regular schedule and established standards.

Responsibilities:
1. Promotes Harvest home Senior Living Services mission and philosophy in daily work.
2. Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence,
choice, and individuality of residents.
3. Cleans resident rooms according to a regular schedule and established guidelines:
Bathrooms
- Remove dirty towels; replace with clean towels.
- Clean the toilet (including the tank, outside the bowl) and spray disinfectant into the bowl.
- Clean the shower, including the shower walls and floor.
- Clean the sink/faucets - inside and out – with disinfectant
- Clean the mirror and counter
- Remove excess clutter, with knowledge/permission from resident
Furniture & Fixture Cleaning
- Dust the tops, sides and front of furniture
- Wipe window sills and air conditioning units
- Clean any mirrors or glass in the room (excluding windows)
- Remove excess clutter, with knowledge and permission from resident
Floors / Carpeted Areas
- Change the vacuum bag if needed
- Vacuum the carpet
- Mop bathroom floor
- Spot clean any soiled areas on carpet
- Performs deep cleaning in resident rooms according to an established schedule and as per instructions from the House Manager/Administrator.
- Cleans office areas and other common areas according to a regular schedule or as requested by the House Manager/Administrator.
- Refers to the Housekeeping and Laundry Tasks list to ensure resident needs and preferences are met, as well as consulting with the caregiver on staff.
- Relates to residents in a courteous, understanding, and cooperative manner.
- Follows Standard Precautions and Infection Control Policies.
- Monitors for changes in the status of residents and reports such observations to the RN and/or house manager or administrator.
- Reports any abuse, suspected abuse or alleged abuse to the appropriate authorities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Enjoys working with the elderly.
- Dependable.
- Able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
- Well groomed and willing to follow dress requirements.
- Able to interact in a positive manner with residents.
All general staffing requirements:
- Free of communicable disease
- Able to physically/mentally perform tasks, as verified by a health screening that includes TB clearance
- Criminal record clearance and background checks
- Current CBRF training for fire safety, residents rights, standard precautions, infection control
- General understanding of the needs of the elderly
- Willingness to learn.
Education:
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred. Prior housekeeping experience and experience working with the elderly preferred.
Sign-On Bonus: $1,200 paid in installments over the first year for employees in good standing.
