About this position
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Lead Medical Assistant to oversee daily clinical operations and support our healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on medical assistant experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This role serves as a clinical leader, mentor and liaison between providers, staff, and administration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and support medical assistant staff to ensure efficient clinical workflows
- Coordinate daily clinical operations, procedures and treatments
- Assist providers with examinatios, procedures, and treatments
- Perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, administering injections, EKGs, Phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, Infection Control, and clinical protocols
- Train and onboard new medical assistants
- Monitor inventory, order medical supplies, and maintain equipment
- Review and maintain accurate patient documentation in the EHR
- Act as a point of contact for clinical concerns and problem resolution
- Collaboratae with management to improve processes and patient satisfaction
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years experienc as a Medical Assistant
- Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- Strong Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record Systems (ATHENA Proficiency is an added bonus!)
- Excellent communicaiton, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in family medicine
- Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Medical Assistant
- BLS/CPR Certification
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Medical Assistant: As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Perform minor Clia waived laboratory services
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Clinical Administrative Assistance as well, check in/check out
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Perform basic clinical skills such as: EKG, PFT, Vitals, Phlebotomy, Injections
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Degree or Certification in Medical Assistance
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (Athena Proficiency a bonus!)
