Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, motivated Office Assistant who is interested in growing into a Project Management role within our company. This is not just an administrative position — it is a career-track opportunity for someone who wants to learn the electrical construction industry from the inside and develop into a leadership role.
The ideal candidate is professional, confident in communication, extremely strong with email and computer systems, and eager to take ownership of tasks. Electrical or construction experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic and desire to grow are most important.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Office Support
- Manage high volumes of professional email communication
- Assist with scheduling projects, inspections, and service calls
- Prepare and organize project documentation (contracts, permits, submittals, closeout documents)
- Maintain digital job folders and ensure documentation accuracy
- Enter and track data in Excel spreadsheets
- Assist with invoice preparation and customer communication
Project Coordination (Training Into PM Role)
- Support Project Managers with scheduling and job tracking
- Track material orders and delivery dates
- Coordinate with field crews and vendors
- Assist with permit applications and utility paperwork
- Help monitor job budgets, hours, and timelines
- Participate in internal project meetings
Required:
- Strong computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel required)
- Excellent professional email communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable speaking with customers, vendors, and field teams
- Confident personality — not shy, able to take initiative
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred (but not required):
- Electrical or construction industry experience
- Understanding of project scheduling
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar software
- Familiarity with permit processes or commercial job documentation
