About this position

The Human Resources Manager will report to the President of the company and will engage with managers and employees at all levels of the organization. The Human Resources Manager will act as a change agent and drive the organization’s culture by shaping behaviors that make a positive impact on operational and financial outcomes. Implement and administer human resource-related policies, programs and practices and will oversee areas including legal compliance, recruitment, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations as well as performance management.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as culture ambassador to contribute towards the development of the company culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Proactively implement strategic HR initiatives.
  • Oversee the entire recruitment and hiring process including source, pre-screen and interview candidates. Focus on hiring and retaining the right talent.
  • Manage and implement an efficient on-boarding process and conduct an engaging and efficient new hire orientation.
  • Process payroll and work closely with the Finance Manager on various functions in relation to payroll.
  • Administer benefit programs including, 401k, health and wellness, and conduct open enrollment meetings.
  • Oversee unemployment including processing of claims.
  • Work directly with Department Managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities related to HR matters. Provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to Department Managers and individuals.
  • Make recommendations for and conduct disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Conduct employee and management training as needed.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and perform all required reporting.
  • Plan and participate in employee events and philanthropy efforts.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SHRM certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years Human Resources experience serving a business in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ADP, Paylocity or similar HRIS.
  • Extensive knowledge in employment law, worker’s compensation and safety preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Experience with creating custom reports and HR metrics is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing demands and priorities.
