Job Description:
The Director of Community Management will provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of homeowner and condominium associations. This role is responsible for overseeing community management operations, leading Community Association Managers (CAMs), ensuring service excellence, and maintaining strong relationships with boards, residents, and internal stakeholders. This position plays a key role in driving performance, consistency, and long-term organizational growth within the HOA/COA portfolio.


Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage Community Association Managers and support staff
• Oversee daily operations across assigned HOA/COA communities
• Ensure consistent service delivery, operational standards, and compliance
• Serve as senior escalation point for boards, communities, and internal teams
• Support CAMs in board relations, governance, and meeting management
• Drive client satisfaction, retention, and long-term relationship building
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and fiscal accountability
• Support budget preparation, reserve planning, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with governing documents, state statutes, and regulations
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives
• Support onboarding and transition of new communities
• Identify operational efficiencies and process improvements
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, service, and accountability

Requirements:

Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Management, Finance, or related field)
• 3-5 + years of experience in HOA/COA or property management
• Strong understanding of HOA/COA governance, operations, and board relations
• Proven experience leading teams and managing performance
• Strong financial acumen, including budgets, reserves, and reporting
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills
• Highly organized with strong operational and strategic thinking abilities
• Ability to manage multiple communities and priorities effectively


Licensing & Certifications (Preferred, Not Required at this time in NC and SC)
• Community Association Manager (CAM) license
• CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations)
• Other relevant industry certifications are much appreciated.
