Position Summary: The Mental Health Intern (Counselor) is responsible for providing quality clinical services including assessment, individual and group therapy for clients within our programs. They assist in establishing medical necessity and diagnosis, develop treatment plans, and assist the patient in formulating and achieving their goals. All work will be overseen by Triumph's on-site Clinical Mental Health Supervisor. A clinical affiliation agreement will be signed and agreed upon by the educational institution and the overseeing supervisor at Triumph which will be the "clinical site."

RESPONSIBLITIES
- Offer comprehensive assessment and specialized therapeutic counseling for individuals and groups in various programs.
- Deliver personalized case management services tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain compliance with local, regional, state, and federal regulations by implementing effective quality assurance (QAR) processes for consumer services.
- Cultivates and sustains partnerships with community resources to improve the well-being and functionality of individuals with mental illness.
- Implement discharge plans and community placement plans for clients upon completion of treatment.
- Ensure that client records are consistently updated in line with agency standards, as well as state, federal, and contractual obligations.
- Remain knowledgeable regarding legal obligations in emergency management, including the involvement of Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services (APS) and reporting to the police.
- Engage in psychiatric/psychological consultation upon request from the licensed clinical supervisor.
- Ensure client and staff confidentiality.
- Stay up-to-date and in compliance by completing the necessary training and continuing education required by your contract and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s experience required.
- Be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or Social Work.
Experience:
Bilingual preferred.
- Possess advanced writing, oral and computer skills to perform the functions of this job description.
- Knowledgeable in alcoholism and drug addiction preferred
- Knowledgeable in long-term rehabilitative processes, including awareness of the need for medical care, post-treatment crises, relapse, and new problems arising from sobriety preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
- Must have a professional license and registration number from the State Department of Health.
- Must apply for the Agency Affiliated Counselor number from the State Department of Health.
- Must apply for National Providers Identification Number from the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System
