About this position

Job Description:

Inventory, catalog, and display objects for the teaching collection, create displays, and label the works in the display. Weekly, clean the tables, floors, shelves, and storage areas of the collection room. Sometimes objects will need to be reorganized in their storage areas and moved. Provide demonstrations for informational sessions in the ceramics department. 

Work with the supervisor and, on occasion, library staff to digitally archive the images and written materials of past students onto Online platforms. The assistant may also print and create hard copy binders of these materials.  

Present demonstrations and discussions for informational sessions in the ceramics department.

Assist with the preparation of the studio space for the semester.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

 Both students: Advanced knowledge and skills of materials and processes. Cleaning skills. Aptitude for the care, handling, inventory, marking, and storage of ceramic and mixed media objects, skills for curating and labeling displays of objects, organizational and clerical skills for making records, and photography skills. Database software knowledge and proficiency in social media platforms may be required. Ability to follow directions, usually working without direct supervision. Punctual and dependable. 


Salary Information

$13.75 Hourly Wage
