Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Grader Operator to operate our 655 Komatsu grader. This position involves operating graders to clear snow and maintain safe, accessible roadways and properties throughout Edmonton. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Clean driver’s abstract (mandatory).
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a grader.
- Knowledge of snow removal techniques and winter driving conditions is preferred.
- Ability to work in extreme cold temperatures and harsh winter conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform regular equipment maintenance.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Flexibility to work day or night, weekends, and on-call shifts, as required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate a 655 Komatsu grader to clear snow from roads, parking lots, and other designated areas.
- Ensure the safe operation of equipment while working in snow removal operations across Edmonton.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete snow removal tasks efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws while operating heavy machinery.
- Assist with other snow removal tasks such as salting or sanding as needed.
- Maintain communication with the team to report on job progress and conditions.
Work Environment:
- Work in an outdoor environment, where the employee will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including cold, wind, rain, snow and low visibility.
