Position: Crew Member - Farmington, NM
Summary: As a Landscape Crew Member, you will be an integral part of a team responsible for maintaining and beautifying outdoor spaces. You will work under the direction of a supervisor to perform various tasks related to landscaping, such as mowing, trimming, planting, and general grounds maintenance. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a passion for creating visually appealing outdoor environments.
Reports to: Crew Leader
Responsibilities:
  1. Grounds Maintenance:
  • Perform regular lawn mowing using push mowers, riding mowers, or other equipment as assigned.
  • Trim and edge lawns, sidewalks, and flowerbeds to maintain a neat and manicured appearance.
  • Remove weeds, debris, and litter from landscaped areas.
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to promote healthy growth and maintain desired shapes.
  1. Planting and Mulching:
  • Assist with planting flowers, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation according to landscape plans.
  • Spread mulch, soil, or other planting materials to enhance soil quality and moisture retention.
  • Water newly planted vegetation as needed and adjust irrigation systems as directed.
  1. Landscape Enhancement:
  • Participate in seasonal clean-up projects, including leaf removal, snow removal, and winterizing irrigation systems.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Adhere to local regulations and environmental guidelines related to landscaping practices and chemical usage.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle chemicals according to manufacturer instructions.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Physically fit and able to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors and experienced crew members.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for certain positions.

Operational Skills: Ability to operate most small engine equipment used on a daily basis, including but not limited to: Zero Turn Riding Lawn Mower, Walk Behind Lawn Mower, Line Trimmer, Steel Edger, Trencher, Hedge Trimmer, and Skid Steer.

Salary Information

$14 - $18
