Position Summary:
The Plumbing Service Technician role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential and light commercial settings. The ideal candidate has strong experience in troubleshooting, system installation, and working efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan plumbing system layouts
- Install and maintain water supply lines, waste disposal systems, gas lines, and fixtures
- Locate, diagnose, and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, or drainage problems
- Install and service gas and liquid heating systems, including HVAC-related plumbing
- Cut, assemble, and fit pipes with consideration for existing infrastructure
- Ensure systems comply with all safety standards and plumbing codes
- Repair or replace sinks, faucets, drainage lines, water heaters, and appliances as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and service vehicles
- Provide excellent customer communication and service throughout each job
- All other duties as assigned
- Proven experience as a plumber in residential or commercial environments
- Current New Mexico Journeyman Plumbing License preferred
- Trade school diploma or completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship
- Valid journeyman plumbing license required
- Solid understanding of water distribution, drainage, and gas systems
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and plumbing-related appliances
- Proficient in using plumbing tools and equipment (e.g., pipe wrenches, cutters, augers)
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints and schematics
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces including attics and crawlspaces
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to participate in a monthly rotating on-call schedule (7 consecutive days, 24-hour availability for emergency calls)
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours as required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
- Regularly required to work in small, confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics
- Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders and rooftops
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions depending on job site
- May encounter dust, debris, insulation, and other materials typical of residential and commercial job sites
