Part Time Sanitation Collector

• SANITATION UNIT

   

  2025 Grade 5 Hourly Rate $22.05

   

  This responsible position requires the skillful, safe and efficient operation of all related Sanitation/Recycling trucks and equipment, extensive and constant exertion and exposure to weather, odors and refuse.  The position requires entrance onto private property for residential trash collection.  Frequent contact with the public is possible during the collection process. Employees may be assigned to any work unit within the Division.

   

  POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Mandatory)

   

  • Valid Drivers License

   

  JOB FUNCTIONS

   Examples of work duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

   

  • Picks up, carries and empties trash into collection trucks
  • Participates in clearing the street and surrounding area of spilled refuse
  • Cleans trucks and reports needed repairs
  • Operates a specialized refuse truck
  • Operates hydraulic packer
  • All other duties as assigned within the Division of Public Works
