Senior Accountant (Portfolio Management)
The Senior Accountant (Portfolio Management) is responsible for managing banking relationships, overseeing regulatory filings, coordinating trustee and lender requirements, supporting real estate tax compliance, and assisting with key accounting functions.
This position plays a critical role in protecting company assets, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth financial operations across a multi-state portfolio.
Banking & Treasury Management
- Open new bank accounts and manage KYC documentation
- Establish and maintain authorized signers and online banking access; remove former employees as needed
- Coordinate banking relationships with trustees, lenders, and financial institutions
- Oversee bank and deposit reconciliations, refunds, and fees
- Support treasury reporting and internal controls
Insurance & Compliance
- Serve as Commercial Insurance Coordinator
- Maintain W-9s and related documentation; ensure organized filing and storage
- Coordinate payment of good standing fees for states of formation
- Maintain master data lists and compliance tracking spreadsheets (e.g., INHCQP)
- Support RCF license renewal applications and payments
Real Estate Tax & Portfolio Administration
- Prepare and submit multi-state real estate tax exemption filings
- Coordinate tax payments with lenders and trustees
- Coordinate assessment reports, rebate calculation reports, and trustee fee payments
- Prepare annual correspondence to assessors
- Complete change-of-address filings with county treasurers
- Monitor tax bill accuracy and payment timelines
Accounting Support
- Prepare payroll reports
- Assist with financial reporting and reconciliations
- Support month-end close processes as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Three (3) or more years of accounting, treasury, or portfolio administration experience
- Experience supporting multi-entity portfolios
- Familiarity with real estate tax processes and insurance compliance requirements
- Strong knowledge of banking procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
