Position Overview

Indicon is growing rapidly and seeking a driven, experienced, and accountable Product Manager to lead our product offerings and serve as the central link between engineering, marketing, estimating, manufacturing, and project management.

This role owns the full lifecycle of Indicon’s commercial product lines, with focus on power distribution equipment, switchgear, and specialty electrical panels serving the solar, utility, and data center markets.

We are looking for someone with strong industry knowledge, a deep understanding of electrical distribution hardware, and the ability to identify what products the market needs and why.

Key Responsibilities

Product Leadership & Strategy

  • Own the product roadmap for power distribution and switchgear offerings.
  • Identify new product opportunities and emerging market trends.
  • Evaluate customer needs and competitive landscape to guide product evolution.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, estimating, procurement, project managers, and leadership.
  • Serve as the primary communication hub for product planning and execution.
  • Translate customer and market requirements into technical direction for engineering and manufacturing.

Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee product development from concept through final release.
  • Ensure all panel builds and components align with customer specs and Indicon quality standards.
  • Support installation teams (Conti or subcontractors) to ensure seamless field execution.

Commercial & Market Insight

  • Maintain strong understanding of electrical distribution equipment, switchgear configurations, and panel types used in solar farms, utility operations, and data centers.
  • Support marketing with product positioning and technical content for launches.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with estimating to support pricing and bill‑of‑materials development.
  • Interface with customers to address technical questions and clarify product needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement across product lines and internal processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in power distribution, switchgear, electrical panels, or utility electrical operations.
  • Background may include: 
    • Utility work
    • Seasoned commercial/industrial electrician
    • Switchgear or panel manufacturing
    • Large‑scale solar or data center projects
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution hardware and panel configurations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional coordination and drive results independently.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in decision‑making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience coordinating with engineering, estimating, and project management teams.
  • Prior product management or technical product ownership experience.
  • Ability to travel periodically (<10%).
