SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising a new and growing team of Personal River Cruise Planners and assisting them in their daily activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Involves in the interview process, trains, coaches, counsels and oversees staff performance productivity.
- Develops new procedures that assist the staff in providing an exceptional customer service experience.
- Monitors and evaluates Personal River Cruise (PRC) Specialists performance to meet or exceed the department’s sales goals.
- Communicates new procedures to the department.
- Shares updated training materials and ensures the team remains informed about new developments within the company relevant to their roles.
- Motivates and empowers the staff.
- Handles escalated calls and makes decisions in the best interest of AmaWaterways and the guests being assisted.
- Reviews sales reports, phone statistics, attendance records, conversion reports, and leads distribution reports, discussing them with the PRC Manager to identify the key components of a successful PRC Specialist and assist each team member in achieving their goals.
- Monitors incoming calls/leads.
- Actively communicates with the team about daily inquiries in real time.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with AmaWaterways guests.
- Creates reservation knowledge tools specific to the PRC department.
- Regularly monitors and listens to phone calls to ensure consistency and quality of service, provides feedback to the team and the team’s manager, and identifies training opportunities and improvement suggestions.
- Participates in weekly meetings with the team to discuss various topics.
- Collaborates on sales decisions, either jointly or in the absence of the department’s Manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises Personal River Cruise Planner employees within the Reservations- Personal River Cruise department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Human Resource Systems; Microsoft Office Suite; Database Software, Internet Software, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software, Electronic Mail Software, Presentation Software, Reservation Software, Phone Software
- Other skills required: Previous travel industry is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience and team building is preferred.
- Possesses excellent customer service and sales skills with a strong leadership background.
- Knowledge of the AmaWaterways product is preferred.
