Skyline Scientific is seeking a OPIR Remote Sensing SME to lead our and support our analysis team in the intelligence and defense communities. This is a hands-on, mission-focused position where you will contribute to a dynamic operational and development, performing advanced data exploitation, assessing emerging capabilities, and helping define the future of OPIR technical workflows

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior-level subject matter expertise to guide the collection and requirements generation of OPIR- systems and analytical applications.
  • Review, validate, and enhance OPIR products
  • Maintain a detailed, reproducible collection and analysis logs, documenting workflows, decisions, and methods.
  • Adapt quickly to real-time mission demands and respond rapidly to ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Coordinate collection tasking strategies and prioritize requirements across multiple sensors and systems.
  • Develop and refine strategies, processes, and workflows that ensure mission objectives are consistently met.
  • Conduct multi-sensor fusion, cross-INT correlation, and integration of OPIR, IR, GEOINT, SIGINT, and other data streams.
  • Download, preprocess, and condition large datasets; extract key signatures; and deliver curated data to mission customers.
  • Test and evaluate emerging OPIR algorithms, tools, and exploitation platforms; contribute to trade studies and capability assessments.
  • Provide SME-level insight on OPIR phenomenology, sensor performance, calibration, and environmental factors.
  • Demonstrate ingenuity and resourcefulness when applying advanced scientific concepts to mission challenges.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to internal best practices, analytic standards, and methodology development.
  • Recommend enhancements to tools, methods, and processes, and help develop new analytic applications that improve product quality.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active TOP SECRET/SCI with Poly: This position requires a security clearance, which is issued by the US government—U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Image Science, Engineering, Applied Physics, Atmospheric Science, Applied Mathematics, or in related fields and 5 years of OPIR experience
  • Experience with image processing and/or digital signal processing tools that process short and mid-wave infrared
  • Experience using algorithms for target detection and background suppression
  • Experience in the TCPED process for OPIR, either in Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination.
  • Experience using multi-data stream ingest and analysis techniques
  • Excellent documentation skills, organizational skills, and verbal communication (including presentation) skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Image Science, Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or in related fields and 5 years of OPIR experience
  • Experience with Python, C/C++, IDL and/or MATLAB
  • Familiar with ArcGIS, Google Earth, Opticks, Palette
