ONBOARDING and ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Full Time, Days 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Orientation & Onboarding
  • Facilitate engaging and interactive orientation sessions for new staff, covering organizational values, policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and formats (e.g., presentations, role-playing, group discussions) to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the organization, modeling professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Follow up with new employees post-orientation to promote engagement and support retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with HR, clinical leadership, and department heads to ensure orientation content is current and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of orientation sessions and continuously improve content and delivery based on feedback.
  • Training Coordination & Competency Tracking
  • Schedule and coordinate on-the-job training (OJT) for new hires and existing staff across departments.
  • Track skills validation and competency completion for all new hires, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
  • Maintain and audit employee files for accuracy and completion, specifically for assigned skilled nursing and senior living facilities.
  • Track electronic education and competency compliance using digital platforms; promote timely completion within assigned facilities.
  • Generate and distribute regular reports on training and competency status to leadership.
  • Engagement & Mentorship
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Recruit, train, and support departmental mentors to enhance on-boarding and peer support
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify engagement opportunities and address retention challenges
  • Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements based on data and feedback
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate's degree in Health, Human Services, or a related field is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Human Services, Education, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in employee training, onboarding, or engagement programs preferred.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate interactive training sessions.
    • Proficiency in using electronic systems for tracking education and competencies.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, clinical leadership, and department heads.
