Working under the direction of a Pharmacist, you’ll gain exposure to the many moving parts of modern pharmacy practice — from patient care and prescription processing to lab work and pharmacy operations. You’ll leave with practical experience, professional confidence, and a deeper understanding of how pharmacies truly run.
What You’ll Experience
This internship is designed to give you a well-rounded view of pharmacy practice:
Patient Care & Customer Experience
- Assist patients via phone, email, and in person
- Observe pharmacist–patient consultations
- Help resolve customer questions and concerns
Pharmacy Operations
- Fill prescriptions and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision
- Stock shelves, label medications, and organize inventory
- Maintain medication and supply inventory
- Support cashiering and point-of-sale functions
Clinical & Professional Development
- Stay informed on new, discontinued, or updated medications
- Communicate with physicians for prescription clarifications
- Learn insurance processing and pharmacy workflow systems
Administrative Support
- File patient records
- Process insurance claims
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization

Who Should Apply

Requirements
- Enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program
- Active Pharmacy Intern License from the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
