Job Summary:
The Low Voltage Technician will specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial security systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with low voltage systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, audio/video equipment, data cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure the highest standards of safety and functionality for our clients' security needs. The Low Voltage Technician will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support during all phases of project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Work closely with customers, contractors, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects while adhering to safety standards and industry regulations.
- Handle various low-voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, audio/video equipment, data cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all low-voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Document all work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to customers and team members as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually improve service quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in ACCESS control systems, including expertise in intrusion detection systems and video surveillance systems. Experience with audio-visual equipment and requires a current Arizona Alarm Agents License. Additional experience with fire alarm systems is a plus.
License: Arizona Alarm Agents License
Skills: Possesses the ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively, ensuring accurate and efficient project execution. High awareness of job site safety protocols and strict adherence to Benson’s safety standards underscore a commitment to a secure working environment. Excels in analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving tasks, with excellent written and verbal communication skills facilitating clear and effective interactions.
Background Check: Must pass a background check with no DUI or domestic violence records as some work may be on Federal Property and Military Reservations.
Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders, aerial lifts, and at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel as needed with overnight stays.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to various weather conditions and job site environments.
