About this position
Walpole, Inc. has an opening for a full-time Diesel Mechanic at our Tampa, FL, terminal. Duties include, but are not limited to, diagnosing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle components, plus communicating professionally with drivers, team members, and supervisors. Applicants should have experience in the following areas:
- Diagnosis of diesel engines and after-treatment problemsOuter End (brakes, bearings, and seals)Electrical troubleshootingHVAC systemsAir brake repairs
- Selecting the appropriate course of action for repairsEvaluating completed work prior to release, seeking supervisor approval where requiredRemoving, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle componentsDiagnosing all phases of vehicle and equipment repairEnsuring work orders are completed accuratelyPerforming road calls and emergency services as necessaryActively participating in safety or educational training as requiredMoving vehicles safely between job and work areaCommunicating professionally with drivers, team members, and supervisors
