About this position
The Regional Pizza Quality Control Specialist plays a key role in maintaining Sal’s Pizza’s reputation for excellence by ensuring product quality, consistency, and brand standards across all locations. This role is a hands-on role that conducts on-site audits, works hand and hand with location staff, evaluates food preparation and presentation, and is expected to actively participate in daily pizza operations when on-site — including making pizzas, supporting prep, and working alongside store teams — to fully understand execution, identifying opportunities, and model brand expectations.
Important: We are seeking candidates based in the Lakes Region or Providence, RI to support regional quality operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular on-site evaluations of product quality, presentation, and adherence to brand standards.
- Partner with location managers to review audit results and support improvement plans.
- Monitor recipe accuracy, ingredient handling, and portion control to ensure consistency.
- Perform detailed product testing and sampling to verify compliance with quality expectations.
- Document findings, prepare reports, and communicate action plans to Operations leadership.
- Support the development and implementation of quality KPIs and tracking systems.
- Assist with training initiatives related to food quality and operational standards.
- Maintain a proactive presence in the field, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
- Actively engage in daily pizza operations during site visits, including pizza preparation, line support, and execution of core menu items, to assess quality and consistency firsthand.
- Work side-by-side with store teams to observe workflows, reinforce best practices, and demonstrate proper techniques when needed.
- Serve as a role model for Sal’s operational standards by leading through example in the kitchen and on the line.
- Provide support for opening new locations.
- 2+ years of experience in restaurant operations, quality control, or hospitality management.
- Strong knowledge of pizza preparation, ingredient handling, and food safety standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and correct process deviations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable coaching managers and teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and digital reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to multiple locations weekly.
