Job Summary
We’re seeking an Accounting Specialist with a strong focus on inventory accounting to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with both numbers and people, and can maintain accurate, timely inventory records. Experience in the steel or metals industry is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records across multiple locations or product lines.
  • Reconcile inventory balances, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with vendors to verify pricing, quantities, and delivery accuracy.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory.
  • Prepare inventory-related reports and analysis for management.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and internal controls.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and finance teams.

Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory accounting.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and inventory valuation.
  • Experience communicating with vendors and resolving discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems Quickbooks mandatory, Soulé Software experience a plus.
  • Experience in the steel industry or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
