Position Information:
As a Senior SharePoint Applications Developer to support the effort of the team supporting our federal customer’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The candidate will provide senior-level technical leadership, architecture, development, modernization, and operational support for enterprise SharePoint and custom application environments within the OCIO. Experience working in Federal IT organizations is preferred.
Essential Functions
This role will be responsible for performing tasks such as but not limited to:
• Maintain, enhance, and modernize OCIO SharePoint environments.
• Develop recommendations for future-state SharePoint infrastructure and architecture improvements.
• Architect and deploy SharePoint Framework (SPFx 1.22) solutions using modern development frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Provide technical leadership for modernization initiatives aligned with Microsoft 365 best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Vue.js 3, TypeScript, Vite
• Pinia, Node.js 20
• Develop SPFx-based enterprise portals utilizing U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and the federal agency’s Content Design System standards.
• Replace legacy systems with secure, scalable, fully accessible web applications.
• Implement secure authentication using Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL).
• Integrate RESTful APIs using Axios and secure data access patterns.
• Develop and implement data collection platforms.
• Build, maintain, and enhance automated data pipelines.
• Develop Power BI datasets and dashboards with row-level security (RLS) for agency and component-specific access.
• Automate reporting workflows and notifications using Power Automate.
• Support executive reporting and strategic IT governance initiatives and integrate external APIs including USASpending.gov, FOLIO, TBM, U.S. Census Bureau, and Acquisition.gov.
• Manage source control and issue tracking using GitHub.
• Implement automated testing using Vitest and Playwright.
• Promote secure coding practices and modern DevSecOps methodologies.
Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum Experience: ten (10) years of progressive experience in SharePoint development, enterprise application development, and systems modernization in Agile environment.
• Education/Experience Equivalent: Associate’s degree + 12 years relevant experience, OR High School Diploma + 14 years relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
• Advanced proficiency in:
o Vue.js 3
o TypeScript
o Node.js
o Power BI
o Power Automate
• Demonstrated experience implementing U.S. Web Design System (USWDS).
• Experience ensuring Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
• Experience integrating secure RESTful APIs in federal or regulated environments.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines within Microsoft 365 ecosystems.
• Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Desired Knowledge/Skills
• Experience supporting federal IT portfolio management, capital planning, acquisition reporting, or similar governance functions.
• Experience supporting Cabinet-level federal agencies.
• Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks.
• Microsoft certifications (Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure Developer).
Salary is commensurate with experience.
