 The Regional Sales position at Clarke Power Solutions offers an exciting opportunity to drive the sales of cutting-edge Perkins engines while nurturing strong relationships within the OEM and end-user markets. As the key point of contact for OEM and retail accounts in your territory, you will play a vital role in promoting the exceptional Perkins engine product line. You will collaborate closely with Clarke’s talented application and engineering team to seamlessly integrate engine systems tailored to meet the unique requirements of each application. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Regional customer visits (approximately 50 - 75% of time on road).
  • Weekly phone conversations with regional customers.
  • Responsible for developing and executing Clarke Powered Solutions’ Perkins Engine sales growth strategy via penetration of existing key accounts and by the constant scanning of the marketplace for new engine application opportunities.
  • Primary contact for all regional customers
  • Drive aggressive growth targets: volume, mix, penetration, and timing.
  • Strengthen the relationship with customer OEM’s – Industrial manufacturers and generator packagers.
  • Timely, prompt submission of required reports, written clearly, professionally and with good grammar.
  • Present, coordinate and/or participate in sales meetings, shows and exhibits, demonstrations (demos), plant tours, trade associations, and conventions to promote Clarke Powered Solution and Perkins products.
  • Maintain appropriate records of communication (both written and verbal) with customers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customer and A&I Engineering group. Establish self as the conduit for information flow.
  • Communicate with inside sales & engineering on new projects prior to quoting customers.
  • Prepare and communicate monthly perpetual forecasts of invoicing, orders and dealer-held inventories and customer sold orders in process with the factory as well as those units ordered for anticipated, not-yet-sold customer demand.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience with use of CRM to manage sales reporting, leverage customer information, account management, time, and territory management.
  • A team player, cooperative, collaborative, willing and able to work easily and synergistically with others.
  • Demonstrate effective and efficient time and territory management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, Flexibility, and adaptability
  • Represent Clarke professionally and responsibly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully the individual must have the flexibility to travel extensively as necessary. The ability to communicate appropriately with all customers, work associates and management regarding important market developments. A mechanical aptitude and computer literacy are essential.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in the sale and application of off-highway engines in industrial power or electric power or a related field is preferred; or sufficient experience and technical understanding to appropriately communicate with potential and existing customers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college/university or related equivalent experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, TRAINING, REGISTRATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the last 3 years.
  • No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 5 years (i.e., DUI/DWI).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Clarke Powered Solutions requires safety training, annual recertifications, and sales training.
