About this position

NAHB is seeking a facilitator to support its 20 Clubs program by delivering high-quality member experiences that strengthen peer learning, operational excellence, and business performance. This role offers a unique opportunity for a relationship-driven professional to shape best-practice collaboration among home builders nationwide. The club facilitator will provide on-site guidance and support for up to 10 networking groups and will travel to approximately 20 meetings per year. They will lead agenda-based discussions, prepare meeting documentation, and serve as an NAHB resource to club members. This position reports to the director of executive networking groups facilitation. Successful job candidates will travel to meetings, deliver exceptional customer service, and interface with members and external stakeholders to provide an environment that ensures participants can capitalize on their involvement in the program. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Travel autonomously to approximately 20 meetings annually (domestic and international), serving as a meeting facilitator, recordkeeper, and on-site resource for club members. A typical meeting is two to three days in length, sometimes over weekends. The heaviest amount of travel takes place in the spring and fall seasons each year.
  • Support club chairs in facilitating each meeting according to the established agenda. Prepare meeting minutes and documentation, manage the club business portion, coordinate future meeting details, deliver program-wide messages, and finalize post-meeting reports, billing, and action items. 
  • Promote consistency and quality across clubs by sharing best practices, reinforcing program policies and procedures, and monitoring discussions for compliance with antitrust guidelines.
  • Serve as a trusted NAHB resource to club members, directing members to the appropriate NAHB experts, services, and programs.
  • Effectively communicate messages and policies to members verbally and through online communications.
  • Develop solid working relationships with the department’s logistics planners to ensure the needs of club members are being met in a timely fashion as it relates to meeting logistics. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • High level of customer service attitude and volunteer/staff relationship experience. 
  • Ability to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines under a heavy workload. 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Experience running on-site meetings is preferred but not required.
  • Recent college graduates and those returning to the workforce are encouraged to apply.

Requirements: 

  • Capacity to travel extensively, up to 22 weeks a year, without restrictions that would impede flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to follow and communicate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and MS Word. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, communications, association management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred but not required.

Work Conditions: 

  • Three days in the office located in Washington, D.C./two days remote.
