Description:

The Sales Representative builds profitable, long-term customer partnerships through a consultative sales approach. This role is responsible for managing and growing a defined territory, uncovering customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions by leveraging Tessman products, services, and industry expertise


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage long-term relationships with key customers and prospects
  • Uncover customer needs and present tailored product/service solutions
  • Manage multi-location accounts and develop strategic territory sales plans
  • Achieve or exceed sales goals through focused prospecting and account growth
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams (customer service, operations, credit) to support customer success
  • Accurately track customer activity and opportunities using CRM and sales tools
  • Represent Tessman/Lynde at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites
Requirements:

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience, including territory management and complex accounts
  • Strong communication, active listening, and consultative selling skills
  • Proven ability to grow business and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Experience in the turf, pest, horticulture, or related industries preferred
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Compensation for this role is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. Actual pay may vary and will be discussed during the hiring process.

Commission

Compensation for this role includes a base salary and a variable commission component, with total earnings directly tied to individual performance.
