We are currently seeking a Discovery Clerk to support our Litigation/Personal Injury Department. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 1-3 years of litigation or employment law experience, as well as entry-level candidates eager to grow in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, propound, and respond to discovery requests (preferably in personal injury cases)
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial and exhibit binders
- Calendar deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
- Draft motions, oppositions, replies, and other legal documents
- Manage case files, correspondence, and communications with opposing counsel
- Upload, organize, and maintain case materials in Filevine
- Provide support to attorneys during all phases of litigation, including trial prep
- Assist in training and supporting junior assistants, as needed
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience handling discovery in employment law or personal injury (preferred, but open to strong entry level candidates)
- Strong understanding of the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Paralegal certificate (preferred, not required)
- Familiarity with Filevine or similar case management software is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pay Range:
- Entry-level: $18.00-$25.00/hour (for candidates with limited experience)
- Experienced: $20.00-$28.00/hour (for candidates with 1-3 years of discovery or litigation background)
