Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on leader to manage one of our grain elevator locations. The Location Manager is responsible for leading daily operations, ensuring grain quality and inventory accuracy, maintaining a safe and well-kept facility, and delivering outstanding service to our producer-members.

This is a leadership role with autonomy at the local level, backed by the support of a strong cooperative network.

   

Requirements:

  Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of 4–5 employees.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage seasonal harvest staff.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and      safety.
  • Coordinate with other cooperative locations and      departments to ensure operational alignment.
  • Manage scheduling, including extended harvest hours.

Operational & Grain Management

  • Oversee receiving, storage, conditioning, and shipment      of grain.
  • Monitor grain condition (temperature, aeration, quality      control).
  • Maintain accurate grain and product inventory records.
  • Operate and oversee grain scale and computer systems.

Customer & Member Service

  • Build strong relationships with producer-members.
  • Support product sales and cooperative initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth harvest flow and efficient turnaround      times.
  • Resolve concerns professionally and proactively.

Facility & Safety Oversight

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Oversee grounds upkeep including mowing and weed      control.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and cooperative      safety standards.
  • Promote safe work practices and lead by example.

  Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in grain handling or agricultural operations      preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and operational      controls.
  • OSHA safety awareness.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and grain scale      operations.
  • Ability to work extended and flexible hours during      harvest.
