About the Role:

The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of people, property, and information within various environments across the United States. This position involves monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules, ensuring a secure and orderly environment. The Security Officer will be responsible for responding promptly to incidents, conducting regular patrols, and managing access control systems to restrict unauthorized entry. Effective communication and the ability to operate security technology are essential to coordinate with team members and emergency responders. Ultimately, the Security Officer contributes to a safe atmosphere that supports the well-being of employees, visitors, and assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
• Ability to climb stairs and perform repetitive motions as required during patrols.
• Strong oral communication skills to effectively interact with the public and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in security or law enforcement training programs.
• Experience with advanced access control and surveillance systems.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Familiarity with emergency response protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Operate and monitor access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
• Use wireless and radio communication devices to coordinate with security team members and report incidents promptly.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, providing assistance and escalating situations to law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations to support security operations and investigations.

The Security Officer utilizes intermediate computer skills daily to operate security software and log incidents accurately.
