Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25 food locations.
The IT Area Manager is a professional position responsible for providing front-line technical support. Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Area Manager will take an active role in maintaining physical and field-based IT systems. This is a part time, hourly position. Evenings and weekends will be required during peak fall season.
Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain POS systems, printers, kiosks, menu boards, scanners, KDS systems, and related peripherals
- Set up devices pre-season and replace any defective devices, including processing RMAs
- Serve as the first point of contact for operational outages throughout the farm and escalate as appropriate
- Maintain network closets and equipment locations
- Assist with cable installation, termination, and minor network repairs
- Support deployment of switches, access points, and field devices under IT Manager direction
- Install and maintain cameras utilized on the farm
- Assist with end-of-season teardown
- Maintain inventory records of IT equipment and track device assignments
- Follow and enforce IT security and asset management policies
- Maintain SOPs
- Provide support and training for seasonal staff on devices and systems
- Support any new rollouts made throughout the season
- Escalate any complex issues to the IT Manager
- Monitor and manage IT support tickets throughout the season, including assignment, status updates, and timely resolution or escalation
- Purchase request preparation
Requirements:
- Maintain clear verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to use various forms of technology (laptop, tablet, cellphone)
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions
- Ability to walk long distances across property
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment
